Pacific Tradewinds Hostel is much more than a cheap place to stay in San Francisco.   We are a community of travelers with a common goal of helping our fellow travelers.    We value guests who contribute to our community and like to reward them for their efforts.   Therefore, we offer the following discounts to guests that help us build our friendly social community and spread the word about small hostels.  Discounts can not been combined so pick your best one.  

Event Hosts Discount
At Pacific Tradewinds, any guest can create an event - even you!   An event is something you would like to do while in San Francisco with other guests at the hostel.   Here are some examples.   Once you have made a reservation or check-in to our hostel, you will receive an email with your website login details.   Simply login and create an event.  Your event will appear on the home page of our website.  Respond to RVSPs from other guests and then host YOUR event.   We offer a $2 discount per night for guests that create and lead an event. 

Writers Discount
Hostels are all about sharing information with our fellow travelers.   We want our website to be FULL of useful information for hostel travelers visiting San Francisco.    We want to find and write about those hidden city gems that are great for a backpackers budget.   We'll give the writers discount to any guest willing to share their favorite San Francisco experience/location with future guests in the form of an article of at least 500 words.  The writers discount is $2 off per night. 

Bloggers Discount
Links to our website help us achieve higher page rank on search engines link Google.    Higher page rank helps us promote Pacific Tradewinds and the small hostel philosophy.   If you have a blog or website (not counting social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace) and can put our hostel in positive light and create a link to our website we'll give you a $2 per night discount.  

Spread the Word Discount
As a small hostel we depend on word of mouth to keep our community going.   These days, word of mouth happens on the internet.   So guests that show us their "check-in" on Foursquare, Facebook Places or other similar websites will receive a $1 discount.
