Bay to Breakers is technically a 12K race from the San Francisco Bay to the breakers at Ocean Beach. However it could be described as a day when the city collectively loses its mind, dresses up in costumes, and takes the streets less than sober. While there are hundreds of people who actually do the race, there are thousands more who are dressed as anything from emojis to the infamous Karl the Fog and walk (stumble?) their way through one small section on Hayes Street Hill, along Alamo Square. It’s people watching at its absolute finest, and a party the entire way, since nearly every house along the race route will have music blasting and people dancing in the streets. If you are in SF in May, you cannot miss Bay to Breakers! More info here: http://baytobreakers.com/
