Once in awhile you come across something so common at first glance but truly unique in other ways that it it catches you off guard. San Francisco is home to about 238 different yoga classes, but only one truly stands out like no other. That is Yoga on the Labyrinth, held every Tuesday night at Grace Cathedral. That’s right, yoga inside a church. Not just inside, but on a marble meditation labyrinth, and not just in a church, but a massive & stunning cathedral. So massive, in fact, that when the class is filled to capacity- which it is, almost every week- it can hold 700+ people. Yes, truly. And not only do more than 700 people from all walks of life gather every week and practice yoga together, but it’s to different live music each time. Talk about a truly amazing experience! Anyone visiting who who has ever gone is always blown away. The class is by donation (we suggest $10, still less than half a normal class) and yoga mats are free to borrow with your donation. Whether you have been practicing for years or can barely touch your toes, this class if for you. Beginners welcome! The class starts at 18:15 but getting there early is advised. It goes until 19:30!
