The Red Bull Heavy Water is known as the most intense stand-up paddling event in the world...and it’s returning to San Francisco as part of the 2018 APP World Tour circuit! The window of time (approximate because of weather) will be Oct. 15th- Nov. 2nd. The event will include 36 professional SUP athletes competing in waves over 10 feet high over a 7.5 mile/ 12km course than runs from the SF Bay to Ocean Beach. The event is also an ocean-friendly Deep Blue Event which means that the organization will partner with other people like Sustainable Surf to ensure the event has a low eco impact. They will be minimizing their carbon footprint through keeping waste out of the ocean and landfills, supporting local community, and going plastic straw-free.
