Picture this: it's a warm summer day at the beach in California. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the waves are full of dogs on surfboards...wait. WHAT?! It's true - if you are at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica on August 3, you'll be lucky enough to catch the annual World Dog Surfing Championships! The Dog Surfing Championships started in 2006 in San Diego, and have become so popular that there's even surf dog competitions as far away as Australia! We know what you're wondering: "Can dogs even surf?" YES! Like the World Dog Surfing Championships website says, dogs love to be with their human friends, and if their humans are surfing, the dogs often want to join in the fun!
