Until California get's high speed rail service you will need to use Amtrak to get from Los Angeles to San Francisco by train.    Although it's slow and frequently does not arrive on schedule, the views are great from the train and you will have lots of room to walk around and stretch your legs.  If you have the time, it's definitely a fun trip. Whether you are staying in Venice or Hollywood you will need to first make your way to the Amtrak Station near LAX.   The address for the station is:  Los Angeles - Union Station (LAX) 800 North Alameda Street Los Angeles, CA 90012-2902  Once you get off the train, there's just a short connecting bus journey to bring you into San Francisco. After getting off the Amtrak Thruway Bus at the San Francisco Ferry Terminal, go outside and look across the street. Find the tallest building from that vantage point – that’s the Embarcadero Building #4. If you walk across the Embarcadero waterfront road to Justin Herman Plaza, Sacramento Street starts left of the Embarcadero Building #4. Walk along six blocks until you get to building number 680 on the right (us!). On some services, you can also get off a stop earlier, at California and Drumm. Walk west along California until you get to Montgomery (5 blocks), then walk north along Montgomery for one block and turn left onto Sacramento. We're on the right hand side, at 680.
