I traveled to SF with 2 other friends, and we stayed at the Pacific Tradewinds hostel for 6 nights-- it was an absolutely wonderful experience! All staffs were extremely welcoming and down to earth people. We were given a lot of useful info regarding how to get around and also some local events. The hostel has great vibe; the people are all respectful of one another's space and very clean. If you enjoy traveling, meeting new friends, and get the best out of your SF travel experience, I'd highly recommend you to stay in this hostel.

Enjoyed my stay here. Common area is a great place to get work done or meet other guests. This place was perfect for a traveling student like myself.

Fantastic spot with great people. Found it easy to communicate with the staff and access the building through public transportation. For the SF area you can't beat the price and culture of this location. Cheers.

It was a really great experience. I met people from Australia, Germany, Costa Rica, Italy and other places in the 2 days I was there. I would definitely stay there again.

This place is GREAT. They really made me feel welcome and I had to appreciate all their attention to detail--little things that add up to a good experience. A friendly vibe from the other guests, although mostly the dorms are quiet zones so you don't have to socialize at all if you don't feel like it. I didn't have any problems with anyone the whole time, and I was there for 10 days. I never once regretted choosing this place.

(5 stars) It was the best hostel I stayed in during my 3 months of travelling. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is awesome and I met a lot of nice people. The hostel is very clean, has a good kitchen and is located centrally. There is a lot of interaction between all the guests and also with the staff. I really had an incredible nice and joyfull stay over there. Thanks a lot!!!!

I had a great time here, staff very friendly ! They makes you feel like you're at home. Perfect location, a few minutes of walk of everything. Great place to meet new people from all around the world. They also organise some cool activities a few times a week. Would recommend ! 

I admit that I'm a bit of weary traveller; I haven't taken a vacation for around 6 years and apart from feeling immensely excited that I was visiting San Francisco, I also felt slightly nervous. Although, I had lived in a dorm environment before, I had not stayed in a hostel so I was not sure what to expect when I arrived at the Pacific Tradewinds.

I was glad to hear your hostel does not have a lockout. And I especially liked that I had the option to leave my luggage in the common room, even after checkout.

I love that you accept Bitcoin and it was indeed one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Get a old android phone and make a decet wallet. Cool people. Interesting discussions.
