We felt very safe in the hostel and the area around the hostel during our stay. The personal was very friendly and the rooms were always very clean.
The hostel had a real 'community' feel to it. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and the common area was well laid out for meeting people. The rooms were clean, spacious and I felt very secure. Kitchen was extremely organised and a good size. I wish I could have stayed longer, and if I meet anyone going to San Fran I will most certainly recommend your hostel.

This hostel was so great to stay at! All of the staff were beyond personable and helpful and also just fun to hang out with. Also the whole place was very clean and well equipped. I would completely recommend staying here -- if love to again.
It was a wonderful place. I stayed for 3 nights. Friendly staffs and guests, clean rooms, best location, convenient transportation and got everything you needed.
Pacific Tradewinds is a gem! It's right by China Town/North Beach, a pleasant walk to Fisherman's Wharf (1 mile or so) and easily accessible to BART/bus lines. The staff are SO friendly -- personable, helpful, and genuinely interested in creating a nice atmosphere. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Guests were varied in age and nationality, and were all quiet and turned in early the night I stayed. Definitely exceeded other hostel stays I've had.
