The hostel is situated in a really central, convenient location. It's clean, well kept and everyone is super friendly. I felt so welcomed and comfortable, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys an easy stay and good company. I wouldn't hesitate to book it again, should I come back to San Francisco!

This is a great place! It is super well-organized and in a GREAT location! I loved being able to walk to all the "main drag" areas of SF AND be convenient to the further out areas. The way it is designed makes it easy to interact (or not, if you prefer not too). It is really one of the best organized hostels I have seen. The description matches what they offer. The vibe was really great. People working there are happy to be in the city and be working there so their enthusiasm spreads to other travelers.
Perfect for solo travelers! I stayed here recently as a solo 20 year old female (first time travelling on my own) so was a little nervous about what to expect, however this place is GREAT. Super helpful staff (good storage for baggage even if you haven't checked in yet/day of check out), free coffee/tea/toast, felt safe in the dorm, space for everybody to lock up their valuables, and always someone to chat to in the common room. Best of all is the location- walking distance to Market St, the Embarcadero, restaurants, cinemas, and very easy to get around on public transport.
From the moment we walked across the threshold, it was like we were walking into someone's home. The People. From their first greeting until we left, we felt at home as if we'd gone to stay with Friends or Family that we'd known a lifetime. We WILL return. "The People" extended to the other Guest's as well. They have a central Gathering Room for Guests. Again, even the Guest's made us feel at home. We now have new friends in Japan, Asia, New Zealand, and France. Whether we were all gathered for a meal, or just to Hang Out, it was fantastic.
My experience in the hostel has been phenomenal: really attentive and super friendly staff, well-maintained rooms, sufficient quirkiness in every nook and cranny of the hostel and the interaction w/ fellow travelers are great! Situated near Chinatown, it's pretty convenient to get around using public transportation and amenities are all near-by. Hunting down for late night meals and snacks aren't too difficult here too. Highly recommended and looking forward to stay with them again next time.
