From the minute I reserved to the minute I checked out, the service was impeccable! As mentioned, there are many hostels in SF to choose from but this one is different and special & definitely worth the stay! You become part of the family the minute you walk in! Everyone was super friendly, helpful and we all became friends immediately. I left with amazing experiences, new friends & ended up loving it soo much I stayed my entire stay in SF!! Definitely a place to call home in SF!! It comes highly recommended!!

This place is perfect if you're looking to make new friendships and get great tips on what to do around the city. Both staff and visitors alike are super friendly and helpful, as the title for this place says. Close to everything in downtown, but I almost wanted to stay in most of the time just because hanging out with all these cool people is simply an experience in itself. Community dinners, game nights, and going out to kareoke bars are just a few cool activities you will be have a chance to take part in!

This is a great hostel. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. What it lacks in size and facilities it more than makes up in location, atmosphere and value for money. Will definitely come back next time I'm in SF.

ok, so this was my first stay at a hostel and i would have to say it was just super! it was very well run, super chill, and a great place to land while i was taking in the city of san fran!! location was terrific. darren was really great to quickly and very thoroughly answer any questions i had upon booking, and the staff were awesome at the hostel.

This place is awesome! It's very clean, well-run, full of really cool people who are *very* welcoming, and they're totally understanding of your needs (I actually lost my keys on the last day, and they helped me try to find them and still are willing to give me my deposit back if they find them!). James is the new owner, and he's a really cool guy -- easy to bond with, understands why people come here, and is responsible and helpful to find things around the city, show you around, etc. Highly recommend.

The hostel is a great environment to meet travelers from around the world (in particular, Australians for some reason!). Everyone hangs out in the common area a lot and the staff is great about including guests in dinner / bar plans. I'd definitely recommend the hostel to anyone looking to visit SF on a budget and make new friends!

The Pacific Tradewinds hostel is a very clean, friendly, and social atmosphere. This was my first stay at the hostel and I felt immediately at home. The environment is community-structured, and there are fun activities planned for both at home and in the city. I definitely enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend the hostel to anyone who enjoys traveling! Great location between China Town and Financial district. Free wifi also :)

I totally agree with the description - this hostel really is a place full of nice people. It's super central, cheap, clean, the staff is nice and at night we got together with a group of about ten guests to explore the city nightlife (you don't have to go far). Thank you very much, I had an awesome time in your place!

Hey * thanx so much this beautiful time in SF! Even after I left the hostel I was still in contact with the great crazy people I met there. This hostel is much more than a place to sleep. If you like you can have an awesome time, good talks, nice party, food .. whatever you like :) In the end it feels a bit like home and that is what makes it so unique and - for me - the best hostel I've ever been to :)

I love the hostel! Unfotunately, I couldn't see Darren, but some nice and friendly staffs were always helping me! I really appresiate them all! I've spend great days there with people from all over the world. It's located very convenient area, you can drink their free coffee in the morning, and also you can use their kichen!
